Going, going, gone: que tipo de contexto essa expressão é utilizada?
During an auction, it's very common to see someone up on the stage speaking at a very fast pace. One of the typical things that he says when someone is about to be sold is: going, going, gone. The continuous verb followed by the past participle gives us an idea of something disappearing and finally gone, or in that context, sold. So next time you're watching an auction, try to pay attention to what they're saying. You'll see how often that expression is used.
