Como dizer "caloteiro" em Inglês?

The word I'm teaching you today will probably not be found in most dictionaries because it's a slang. But you can still find it in some. The word is deadbeat, which may not ring any bell (meaning to say it doesn't seem to be very familiar to most English students), especially if heard out of context.

When you call someone a deadbeat, you're probably very mad at them for owing them money and not having it back. If you're Brazilian, you know we have a very particular term for that specific kind of people: caloteiro. Since that kind of people seems to be everywhere regardless of country, culture, color or language, they also had to come up with a word in English.

A few years ago, I had this neighborhood who gave my home phone while filling up a contract with a credit card company. It turned out he persistently failed to pay his personal debts and we started to get at least 3 phone calls a day from the company chasing him up about the money. Such a deadbeat, right? Tell us about your stories with a deadbeat in the comment section. Talk to you next time!
