In the beginning of this year, I moved to a different city. A few months later, I heard one of my neighbors from my old neighborhood had passed away at the age of 95. As much as we know there comes a time for everybody in this world to die, we're taken by surprise when even an 95-year-old dies.
Coincidentally, I came across an expression that's well suited for that kind of situation, that is, when you wanna talk about someone surviving to a specific advanced age. So I could say "my neighbor lived to the ripe old age of ninety-eight." Living to the ripe old age of a specific advanced age is an expression we use as a way to express our admiration for that person to live for such a long time. And that's a kind of feeling most people have towards the elderly. That's it for today. Take care!
