clear from some place: o que isso significa?

In your family, do you have the obligation with some of the household chores? Maybe you have to do the dishes every now and then, or you have one day of the week when you need to clean the bathroom. Suppose it's your day to do the dishes and everybody has just finished eating. That's when your mom says: would you clear the dishes from the table and do the dishes? When you clear something from some place you take them away. Your mom was asking you to take the dishes away from the table and then do the dishes.

You can use that expression with anything and anywhere. For example, you're at your office and you need your secretary to clear all the papers from your desk. So you ask her: would you clear all these papers from my desk while I'm out for lunch? That's all for today. Take care!
