to dirty hands: o que esse idiom significa?
Imagine you want to become a politician but your family is afraid you might get involved with corruption and spoil other people's opinions of you. They say they don't want you to dirty your hands with politics. When you dirty your hands with something bad, you become involved in bad activities and people might start speaking ill of you. It's very common in Brazil to see politicians becoming involved in some kind of corruption. So they dirty their hands with politics and very rarely pay for their bad attitudes. That's it for now. Take care!
