Imagine you've read a book and now you're about to see its version for the big screen. So you go to the cinema with some of your friends, all very excited about the movie because all of you have read the book before going to the movies. When the movie is over, you can't help but see the look of disappointment in each and everyone of your friends. Even you can't believe how much of a bad version that movie was. It didn't live up to the book. While talking to your friends about the failure that movie was, you come into a conclusion that what made the movie suck was its film-makers played fast and loose with their own version of the story. You think they should stick to what's in the book and not come up with an entirely different version of it.
When you play fast and loose with something, it means you're not very careful with it, you treat something without care or attention. It happens all the time when I watch a biblical themed movie. They play fast and loose with the original version that is in the Bible and add details that we've never seen in the Bible before. That's all for now. Take care!
