Expressões idiomáticas com a palavra JOKE

You suggested a friend to watch a comedy movie and now you're talking about it. You friend doesn't make it clear whether or not he liked the movie, because he keeps making fun of the plot, the actors, and how the story progressed. But you want to know what he thought of the suggestion you gave him, and he says: Yes, I know I'm making fun of the movie, but all joking aside, it was a really good movie. It made me laugh really hard. When you say "all joking aside", you stop joking for a while to say something in a serious way.

Now imagine you're among friends when some of them start making fun of you and you get really mad at them. When one of your friends notices you're not taking it too well, he says to the rest of your friends: Guys, better not tease him. He can't take a joke. When you can't take a joke, you're not able to accept ridicule good-naturally . And speaking of not being able to take a joke, when you're a situation where you're the reason for a joke or the aim of it, you're considered the butt of a joke. Take a look at this example: Poor Fred was the butt of every joke told that evening. That's all for today. I hope you like it. And stick around for the part two of expressions with the word laugh. Take care!
